Punica
Germany
Punica is originally a German fruit drink produced by PepsiCo. The drink was in the 90s, popular in the Netherlands and Belgium, but is currently sold less. In Germany Punica is still plenty to be found on the shelves.
Punica in 1977 was first marketed by Dittmeyer GmbH. This company was acquired in 1984 by Procter & Gamble, which sold the Punica area in 2004 to US investor JW Childs. He sold the Punica Getränke GmbH then in 2005 to PepsiCo.
The original drink Punica is a drink made from concentrated fruit juice. In particular, the Multivitamin 17 + 4 (yellow multi-fruit drink in a distinctive large glass bottle with metal cap) was popular in the Netherlands. The slogan for this beverage in Dutch-speaking areas was at Punica Oase. In 1994 the range was extended with the Tea & Fruit line: sodas with fruit juice and tea.
The original variants sold today as classics. In total, are now produced nineteen different flavors. They are no longer only available in glass bottles, but also in PET bottles and soft packs.
