Sentient Software, Inc was a US-based company founded by Michael and Muffy Berlyn in 1981.
They both developed and published adventure games in the early 80's which were subsequently converted to a multitude of platforms (Apple II, Atari ST, DOS, Amiga, C64, etc). The adventure game "Cyborg" was one of its early hits.
Michael Berlyn went on to work on adventure games for Infocom.
Not to be confused with the UK-based Sentient Software Ltd, who also started out publishing text adventure games.
