Founded 1978

Abacus was founded in 1978 as a publisher of software and computer books.

Back then, few people were familiar with the term personal computer think Apple II, Radio Shack TRS-80 and Commodore Pet to name a few. Over our 30 year lifespan, the company has focused it's energies into some very exciting areas as new generations of newer, faster and more capable computers replaced earlier models.

Also released their products through Adamsoft (UK).

Abacus Software was founded by Arnie Lee in 1978 as publisher for books and computer software. Abacus Software develops and publishes high quality software for various computer systems and also computer books.

In the 1980's they published computer books for homecomputer as e.g. C64/128 programming languages and applications. Abacus Software cooperated with the German publisher Data Becker for computer books and software to be sold in the USA.

Since the 1990's add-ons for simulator games (for example the Microsoft flight simulator) and strategic games are developed.

Since 2010 Jim Oldfield Jr., who works for these company since 1988, is publisher and vice predsident of Abacus Software.
